It’s going to be a week…

…before we disappoint everyone and call it rained out. Who knows, we could catch a lucky break, but right now it's looking about as predictable as a fat guy guarding cake. We will make our weather call a week from today. That we can promise. Also note, we hold a higher standard for opening day than usual. It has to be an extremely nice day. We hold higher standards than that thing you dated in college that kept falling off the porch at parties.

We've still been tweaking our criteria as we get through our email. We want to make it as easy for everyone to check. Also, if you're new, do us a favor and read our rules. They are easier to follow than “no fighting” on Spirit Air. Let's be honest here, that airline is ConAir without the handcuffs.

Speaking of handcuffs, we stopped giving people second chances after bad behavior over five years ago now, and it's worked well. You behave badly and we record it, you don't get to come back, ever. We're not going to let one window licker ruin the whole show for everyone, and we want to be excellent ambassadors for the entire city of Redmond so we get their support. This isn't hard. There is no such thing as "I didn't know" because our rules are based on common sense. If you're smart enough to not eat your own shoe, then this should all come naturally.

Also, as a reminder, dealers now have to tell us who's bringing cars ahead of time because we've had too many claim to have sent someone who should know better and be able to follow our rules, but didn't for some reason, then claim they didn't know any better. Nope, you should know better. Also, if a dealer is leaving early, they have to tell us before they arrive, and we won't park them in the center anymore if they do leave early. Cars leaving early are now parked by the exits for safety reasons.

Basically, keep the noise down, don't drive like an asshat, follow our directions in, and all will be fine. But push us and we turn you into a poster child, causing everyone who learns of your behavior to wish you poop in your sleep. You get enough people wishing, and well, you may have to explain yourself to your mom.

The best looking Thug we’ve got. The others are all down hill from here. He’s our 2019 pocket pool champ!

This week, we'd like to shout out to our great Jason Bourriague. Jason has been a key player in our success over the last thirteen years or so, and we can't thank him enough for his massive help. His role is managing the volunteers and much of the event's show activities. Jason has done a wonderful job of building a great cohesive team of volunteers who love working together. I can't say this enough, he's a major force responsible for building and sustaining our amazing group of volunteers. He's truly a natural leader who helps keep the whole thing fun for everyone, including me.

I will be highlighting the other volunteers in the coming blogs because without them, we don't have a show. We also added the year they began volunteering, and it's amazing to see how many have been with us for such a long time. Be sure to thank them at the show. Seriously, no volunteers, no show.
