Come Make Some Friends!

It looks like we're on for another fabulous, stupendous Saturday of Exotics at Redmond Town Center. For those of you who are unfamiliar or from Fresno, this means that our car event takes place at Redmond Town Center on Saturday morning from 9-11 AM, but cars show up earlier. I just had someone ask that very question.

This is the peak of summer, and it will soon be a downhill slide to a long, long, cold, wet, miserable, winter with nothing to do. So, put off organizing those tiny screws into individual jars for a rainy winter day. Choose a different time to prune, tweeze or nose wax, and come on out. Make some friends; start a conversation with a stranger. It's not like you have to go home with them. Just say hello and talk about cars. You'd be surprised what you learn.

The best part of exotic and rare car ownership is the car community itself. Buy an exotic and only hang out alone, and you're missing most of the fun. Get involved and meet people who go on interesting drives. Some of you are into local history, wineries, or museums. Many of us enjoy driving somewhere for good food. When's the last time you drove around South Sound and up to Pt. Townsend for Waterfront Pizza? So what if you’re lactose intolerant, sit on a garbage bag. If you haven't done that drive for pizza, you don't know what you're missing.

A few of us take an overnight trip to Sun Mountain Lodge and prefer to do it on weekdays when it's quieter and there is nobody in the pass. Do it before the fires set in and you come home smelling like smoked meats. Drive up to Molson and learn about its history. It's far more interesting than that random swamp donkey you met at 2 AM who lost their keys. It all begins with making friends at E@RTC and then finding an adventure that doesn’t end in handcuffs—unless you’re into that sort of thing.

Remember, after this Saturday, we will have an invisible show on the 19th, which is something you will want to miss while everyone is in Monterey seeing some fantastic cars for Car Week. We will resume our visible show on August 26th.

Again, for those from Fresno who can read, we're invisible on the 19th. Please don't make me explain that joke one more time.

After we return on the 26th, there are only about eight possible Saturdays of E@RTC remaining in the season. Out of those eight, a few might be rained out, so we're nearing the end even though it's only early August.

We also have British Car Day coming up, which is always a significant event packed with very nice people. See you on Saturday. That trip to Home Depot for a new plunger can wait. Well, maybe not.
